Hell, now there's a plethora of stuff that people think is "playboy"-- even the issues that they pump out now...

However, beyond the bunnies, and in terms of what you're striking at in your post, playboy introduced people to a lot of radical material.

PLayboy, was one of the first to publish Fahrenheit 451-- among other classics-- and bolstered a powerful interview section with subjects ranging from neo-nazis to rock stars, and the television show flaunted acts that were (for racial inequality) otherwise banned from the american public.

The magazine had gusto. not only for the bunnies, but because it was actually fighting to publish things. Now it's just sleazy, but hell, that happens to all art-- it's the price of being avant-gardeThe Easter Bunnynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33710095.post-23203779850465485112011-04-24T03:05:34.784+01:002011-04-24T03:05:34.784+01:00i cant stop laughing... when i tried to google sea...i cant stop laughing... when i tried to google search it to come up with a copy to link here for you to read - your blog came up as a result.. and why? because I commented saying "omg i loved that lauren hutton as a playboy bunny article in harpers uk" ages ago on one of your inspiration collage posts.. im a loser.

but seriously! read the article!

Xhannah-rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15689166550749344257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33710095.post-27564104376414522952011-04-24T03:00:51.617+01:002011-04-24T03:00:51.617+01:00have you read that "memoirs" article by ...have you read that "memoirs" article by lauren hutton in harpers bazaar uk about when she was a bunny? i think it sums up what you're feeling here. It's like there was a bit of a difference between then and now in the way that women got undressed. I know it's cliche and probably a little manipulated, but lauren (yes, we are on first name terms), said that it was all about the power of choosing to be a bunny, rather than doing it because you had to.. i really liked the article.

Xhannah-rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15689166550749344257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33710095.post-6750470450676078122011-04-22T16:40:48.101+01:002011-04-22T16:40:48.101+01:00Good photo, very old school style!Good photo, very old school style!idealcufflinks.comhttp://www.idealcufflinks.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33710095.post-33424601785555937462011-04-22T12:13:48.649+01:002011-04-22T12:13:48.649+01:00Retro playboy is always so good.Retro playboy is always so good.Emmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17595912889477906252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33710095.post-11165020017161452952011-04-21T19:57:03.321+01:002011-04-21T19:57:03.321+01:00Love the bunny with the union jack bodysuit ha ha ...Love the bunny with the union jack bodysuit ha ha !

See U !Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00108044040958894921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33710095.post-24687758249812439782011-04-21T19:50:21.689+01:002011-04-21T19:50:21.689+01:00Strongly agree.
