A Moment

Is it bad that at the moment I'm enjoying dressing a little frumpily on purpose?
If you've ever seen I Heart Huckabees, then I'm having a bit of a Naomi Watts moment. Except minus the chocolate stained-teeth and plus those Clemence Poesy boots I was searched for.

Kniited jumpers + Charlotte Gainsbourg hair + Dad boots + No Skin= The perfect frump formula.
It's very refreshing, and even empowering, I recommend it!

  12. I personally hate the frump--not necessarily on you, on me! I feel self-conscious and bad when I don't take time to wear nice things. That said, I actually find it easier to throw on a dress than to match pants to a tee! A change is always good though.

  13. I know what you mean about feeling self conscious,The Clothes Horse which is why this has come as a bit of a revelation to me. It's like anti-fashion of off days. Flinging on a particularly Dad-worthy knitted jumper but carrying it off well and with confidence.

It's like the Chloe S way of doing things.. (Most certainly why it appeals to me.)

Even if others don't like your style (which isn't at all an important factor to me..) they'll still think you look good if you carry it off it a certain way.

  15. I know what you mean, there are days when i wake up and think, screw this im going all casual, but then i pile loads of jewellery and decide heels would look a lot better, then we are back to square 1. lol

  16. I love comfy wear, like big thick sweaters, or worn in softer shirts. So no, it's not bad at all that you're dressing frumpily on purpose.

and yeah, the old supermodels are really coming back! i love it - ive not taken a liking to our bland generation of models (karlie, chanel etc)

  20. I love the black bow shoes! And the jewellery in the 4th pic down.
Nice pics - love the one with Jessica Stam (5th from the bottom) and the audience is behind her - so fierce.

p.s. I'm so glad you covered Sao Paolo FW. We never get to see that over here, so it was really nice.

  21. Lol, sorry just ignore my last comment. Wrong comment box, lol!

But I do love the feeling of 'purposefully frumpy' every now and then. You're right, it's very empowering - as if to say "sure, i could dress like nicely, but I have the choice and I don't want to."
    Love it.
