This time last year, I created an 'Alternative trends of 2009' post, which was a mini compilation of trend predictions based on Street Style rather than the catwalk (although clearly the two are in a constant cycle of inspiring each other.) With the new season around the corner, here are this year's trends, suggestions and predictions to get you excited about your 2010 wardrobe!

If you're somebody that likes Navajo jackets and Native American references, I highly recommend you watch this video. I haven't stopped thinking about it since watching it; Lauren Buxton's personal interests and influences are great and the video has left me wanting more.

K8, I'd been looking for short dungarees/overalls for bloody ages too. Since about July!
ReplyDeleteIf you have the patience, just keep looking through ebay, etsy and charity shops. Persist until you find them, as if you go through etsy and ebay you have to rummage through lots of baby dunagrees! But it's worth it in the end, at the start of the month I finally got a pair from ebay for under a fiver and I love them. Will do an outfit post soon!

I dig the hawaiian shirt idea, especially with little high-waisted, belted skirts and shorts. Cool post!

I think I will get short overalls just because you said so. It isn't usually my thing but I like the idea of it so I will try. I thought Hawaiian shirts were tacky.

ReplyDeleteI love your forecasts, especially the dungarees one with the cotton jumpers in 70s shades, sounds perfect. I can't believe I've never come across Style Like U before, it's amazing, like the Selby but for wardrobes instead of homes!
ReplyDeleteTotally nailed it! Although, I wonder when we're going to reach or Navajo saturation point? (I'd be fine with never, myself ;n))

ReplyDeletei love these subtle mini-trend posts. trends that actually aren't super trendy with little suggestions on how to go about executing them. and the cute font you use. looking forward to more.
ReplyDeleteLove love love the overalls (jumpers, dungarees). Haven't had the guts to try and pull one off yet but they are hugely popular in Japan. Perhaps it's time to give it a go!
ReplyDeleteWear those all together and you've got yourself quite the outfit!
