I love these two quotes from Tom Waits talking about his wife Kathleen Brennan. He eloquently and romantically describes his partner and collaborator and at the same time creates a template for the 'universal rad woman.'

Wow, that really is a template for the coolest person ever! This is one of my favourite posts ever. 'She's a lot of strong material' - who wouldn't want that said about them?! This also reminds me that I need to learn more about mechanics (or at the very least know how to change a tyre).
i love, love, love tom waits.... and not at all surprised that he would only settle and partner with a woman who is as incredible, innovative, and generally awesome as he is. it is so refreshing to see "celebrity" couples that are beautiful and loving to one another. such an inspiration.
