5 Summer Reads

Five Books I'd like to get my hands on this Summer:
A familial incest classic still unread, Patrick Trefz's surfing portraits and action shots, an ode to musical nostalgia from Mancunian photographer Kevin Cummins, Dennis Morris's book 'Growing Up Black' which is financially unattainable but mega-appealing nonetheless, and Nile Rodger's autobiographical journey through Family, Disco and Destiny to coincide with me seeing Chic this weekend.

What a lovely selection of books - I love the disco one as well as the growing up black one, but £300 :O hell no!

Anyway, I'm so glad you're back in Blighty though your journey around the US was a joy to read... can't emphasise that enough :) What will you be up to now that your back? Will the Summer before uni be busy? Also - I've firmed Sussex to do English Lit so fingers crossed, otherwise it's Leeds :) xxxx

I'd love to read Flowers in the Attic. I've seen the film and I've always thought that It has to be interesting even that it's quite a tragic story. Also it inspires Sofia Coppola's short film Lick the Star title, and that got me even more interested in reading it too.

And the Manchester one, a friend of mine who's a big fan of the music from that time is buying one similar to that one, about The Happy Mondays' days, FAC 51 and all that. I love Kevin Cummins photography, he's photo of Ian Curtis for the NME cover is one of my favorites of Ian, so I'm sure the book might be great as well. And the same goes to the disco one, it looks fun.

    kisses!
