knucking dusting

l-r pippin nyc, topshop, gothic store, urban outfitters, topshop, topshop

the ring collection continues to grow.

rings are my main vice in the jewellry department. i never ever wear earrings and instead load up on knuckle bling, alternating between these and wearing about three at a time or threading one through the thin gold necklace i always wear.

the matter of the ring must be taken seriously (indeed!), and like any article of clothing, there are the inevitable muses who lead the way. for me, these are whitney port for her staunch dedication to always updating her ring and nail polish combos and to mary kate whose pinkies look naked without a smackering of metal.

of course there is also the ever raging nail varnish issue of to chip or not to chip*. i must say, i fall into the former category out of sheer laziness and maybe because i take a teeny bit of pleasure in the scuffiness.

so what's your relationship with rings?

*sorry jess (at sick) i know it's your pet hate!

I'm the same way! like right now I'm wearing some ratty jeans & a tee circa 03 with the word "preppies" crossed out but I still make sure my hands are stylin-I got a filigree ring & a emerald glass ring on, plus I'm rockin tangerine polish. I feel naked without at least two rings.

& I too envy your skull ring. I have yet to find (a non-tacky) one IRL

hi there i love your blog! anyway, i love rings because you can look down if your bored and admire them, ahaha, play with them. also, there is such a variety more than necklaces and earrings i think.

Such a ring person. There's a vintage market every Sunday in Toronto and I always find beautiful old rings there. I once found a vintage Tiffany's ring, which has become my favourite (though I'd like it better if it had diamonds in it ;) )
I love that cat-leopard-looking ring you have.

i tend to wear 2 on one hand and 3 on the other and then rotate them throughout the day. it's like it is some weird, nervous habit, but by the end of the day...they never are where they began...

too chip or not too chip is my current dilemna. do you have any idea how black looks so messy chipped only on one hand???!!!!

I don't wear rings myself. I've never gotten used to them and they always feel awkward when I'm speed-typing.

you have a sick collection of rings

I like rings, but they fall of my fingers all the time. Small fingers :(.

Love the toughness that rings bring to your look, and I like yours combined with the red nails.

I was never a ring person until this year when they slowly started creeping up into my jewelry box. But I always have problems finding rings because my fingers are really thin and most of them always fall off :P
