many of you are fellow french voguettes and so will have already leafed through these pages. but for the rest of you, i wanted to post these clippings with a peek into vanessa traina's home. there is something so fascinating about having a poke around someone else's home, and this is particularly the case when the occupant in question styled that Row video. this feature came just at the right time; i'm preparing to move rooms and am collecting lots of interiors ideas. perfecte.

i'm so very glad of roisin murphy's existence. sometimes i wander who else could possess her fearless power to rock the more difficult ensembles from a designer's collection to such an "undoubtable tee."

she can always be relied upon to satisfy our senses; fusing perfectly sound and visuals and the bloody marvelous music video for "you know me better" is living proof.

i stumbled across some rather sacred text; Claire Edmondson, who styled the video with roisin shares the love and the ideas behind the outfits. and "fyi", she put Feist in that blue sequined jumpsuit in her music video for "1, 2, 3, 4", so clearly she's good news.

I just did a massive, massive shop basically and then you start building outfits from there. And the ruff again is by a local designer."

she's been dubbed the "black paris hilton" purely for her socialite status, but take no notice, for her uniform consists of roitfeld-esque mini and killer heels combos and miu miu collars with not a pink hoodie in sight.

born into a middle class family, she's a "self-made" socialite; you know, the type to name herself an "interior designer". not usually a role model i would be hasty to advocate but i love the fact that she wasn't born into a long family line of oil heirs. to me, this just gives the finger to the rothchilds and mortimers

and her BFFs are julia roitfeld-restoin and anouke lepore. i rest my case.

something i've been meaning to tell you

ohh the sun is shining in england!

for those not familiar with the happy chaos that ensues when the sun shines over here, i shall (ahem) enlighten you.

the suncream comes out so that we can pretend that we are on holiday. sandals, sunglasses, teeny hemlines (take your pick..shorts or skirt.) are all standard because we all know that this could be the last day of sun we see..until next year. and everyone is happy and remarking on the weather even more than usual, which, yes is saying something.

so i have returned home from an easy day of college with a spring in my step and have dragged a recliner out into my 4 metre square of a city garden, stripped down to a lame american apparel bikini top and some old shorts and withstack of magazines and lee scratch perry blaring from the stereo inside the house, am fully understanding the word "bliss".

a look through my pile of magazines has lead me to the conclusion that glossies are like a good cheese; becoming more deliciously flavoursome with time and i-D's april issue is no exception. i shall support this..

ps, just had a click through the style MET archive, which wasn't up when i posted yesterday, and have now noticed that infact nicolas et al did attend and that the outfits aren't quite as non-descript as i had first though. the saving graces were the models who all looked fahhbulous.

I woke up this morning, all fidgety and eager, counting down the minutes until I could find out who wore what at the MET costume gala.

A mixed bag. And I know there are a lot of varying reactions solely by the sheer amount of pages clocked up on the fashion spot thread.

sticking to the theme proved difficult; Anna Wintour, Rachel Bilson and Naomi Watts all took risks that didn't pay off, while Christina Ricci, Kate Bosworth and Kate Moss all incorporated subtle superhero touches with belts and comic book inspired palettes. others looked fantastic despite deeming it unneccesary to pay attention to the dress code.
