New York and Summer Smells

Upon seeing these new Uniqlo adverts featuring Miss Chloe Sevigny (she's getting around this year, isn't she?) I kind of stopped and said to myself "ohh yeahh" when remembering that is very much capable of dressing down, due to the slew of formal outfits and party dresses we've been used to seeing her in of late.

These photos have that fresh New York summer feel to them(you know when you can just smell summer warmth first thing in the morning?), reminiscent of her Kids days, but clean and with the 2008 treatment. And oh, the lighting, how I love it.

PS, I haven't told you yet, but I'll be in New York for two weeks from Saturday. It's my first time in the US and I'm thisss excited. Staying in Chelsea and have already compiled a long list of places to visit, with Fox and Fawn and Thé Adore top of the list. So put your hands up if you live in NYC and be sure to leave me lots of tips on places to check out. And blogging shall continue while I'm in the city; thanks to technology and wifi!

So lucky you're going to new york! There will no doubt be loads of amazing opportunities. Those Chloe Uniqlo ads are really quite funny, just to show the girl has style and doesn't take herself too seriously.

I think that's what Posh Spice was trying to achieve in her Marc Jacobs ads. Hmmmmm.

that would be really refreshing. i'm craving for some pics of NYC :D (it's been 4 years since i went and i'm still enthusiastic as if it was yesterday!)

Looking forward to Uniqlo's Alexander Wang stuff...

My how great does she look in the pink tee and the first image?
I love Chloe but I am a tad scared all this newfound fame might make her not so exciting! Like when Kate Moss became a brand - there was nothing to her anymore.
I hope you have the best time in New York
You are so lucky you get two weeks there!
talk soon!

Chloe Sevigny is getting around. She's on the cover of Teen Vogue, she has an Opening Ceremony collection, and now she's doing ads for Uniqlo?

What kind of store is Uniqlo, I've never been...

hahaha I'm reading everyone get all excited about NYC and I'm just like "ehh yeah whatevs". But I must admit...I love NYC! I live in NYC and am craving to visit the UK and France (next year I swear). You definitely must visit:

-Hells Kitchen Flea Market
-SoHo...just that area itself is frikkin amazing! if you wanna see true nyc style chill in SoHo (they have a Uniqlo and H&M, Prada, steve madden, levi's, chanel, EVERYTHING!) The people you'll meet is crazy so many diferent styles an cultures...I practically live in SoHo
-Just for kicks I love upper manhattan. Everyones so chic (Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman is a must on 5th ave. and the Apple storeis right there and I love going in there for no reason)
-You must go into a store called Yellow Rat Bastard in SoHo...so much cool graphic t shirts
-Andy Chee Pee's: its a vintage store with really cool stuff
-Times Square: right there in times square is 4 Times Square which is the address for Conde Nast Building (which I'm sure you already know is the home to Vogue, Allure, and all those lovely mags)
-The Met Museum
-The Museum at FIT. I don't know if you know but FIT is a fashion school in NY (one of the best) and their museum is frikkin great. They have an exhibition right now (at least I think its now) on Christian Louboutin and there are 2 more really great exhibits (one on exhoticism and the other on madame gres)
-Canal Street: you'll find the best shades ever down there! Bewrae they sell fakes (handbags) and if you're like me and can't stand seeing fakes...beware. also if someone twlls u they can get you a really great "Chanel" bag don't follow them they lead you down these skeevy alleys. plus if cops bust the place and you're just there you can get arrested too
-If you're stopping by Brooklyn you MUST visit Williamsburg. its such a cool artsey neighborhood (plus you'll find some really cool vintage stores like Beacons closet...the best to some)
-Dean & Deluca

if you want any tips or any other cool places feel free to hit me up.

PS: INVEST IN AN UNLIMITED METROCARD! You get to do all this traveling via subway. I recommend the weekly unlimited (its $25). For 1 week you get a subway pass (metrocard) that lets you take as many rides you want for a week. rather than payin $2 per trip

That's so funny, I JUST got back from NYC!!

It'd have been fun if we were there at the same time and stumbled one upon another. Then again, NYC is so huge it would unlikely be so.

I'm emailing you right away :D
