annual january "summer thirst"

Ah, yes, the third week of january. When it feels like it has been the longest winter on record, and when we wonder whether there will ever be an end to dark evenings. we forget how to spell sumer sommer summer, it's been so long. The advertisements for the spring/summer collections are like golddust. Every tanned leg, every sun ray reflected against the camera, short hemlines and sunglasses must be absorbed as a way of building up some reserves to survive until we get a taste of the 'real' summer beyond pages of a magazine.

The new lookbooks spill from every corner, and with daydreams of holidays turning to fruition, thoughts are now occupied with finding the perfect collection of swimsuits and cover ups. Or roadtesting and feeling our way across the spirit of a trend, hanging in the air just out of reach until the temperature allows us to explore and take our own interpretations for a spin on the streets.

1. the sophomore spring lookbook is here.

..now, summer. would you care to join us?

i have to say it - i hate summer.

& i think im the only one.

i wish winter would last forever.

although i am loving that cut out dress! ive been eyeing it for awhile. would look cute with a pashmina worn like a hood, wooly socks, tights & martin margiela boots quite like those pumps, with just that bit of skin peeking through. i love it. it would be very sexy.

at this point i'm truly waiting for my birthday
the edge-of-the-seat tongue-in-cheek biting-of-the-lip sort of waiting

Yesterday, here in Canada's capitol, exposed skin was in danger of being frostbitten after 5 minutes of being outdoors. Yeah, so those rich-mini-skirt-uggbooted girls finally suffered. -39 C with windchill!

yeah marissa, we ottawa dwellers know the frigid wintry season all too well .

i actually had a conversation with my dad this morning about how all i want to do is sleep and lay in bed since it's so dark, gloomy, and FCKING FREEZING .

oh, and i seem to recall you enjoying the interview with singe siemsen i did a while back at sick., and i thought id let you know that i just did another interview, but this time with rumi of fashiontoast.

I'm with you! It's so cold in Manhattan that I slept in tights and a scarf last night. Not so chic! Bring on the summer. Not least because I have a wardrobe of beautiful clothes to wear... LLGxx
